    Information and Registration

Even with our growing knowledge base of project management, delay and cost overrun continue to plague projects of all sizes, across multiple industries.  Cost and Schedule Risk Assessment (CSRA), when completed at key times in the project lifecycle, improve the potential for project success and predictability by helping stakeholders identify and quantify the risks and opportunities.  By applying Monte Carlo analysis to the project cost and schedule, project managers can provide investment decision makers with a realistic and quantified range of uncertainty around the budget estimates and completion dates.  This can also provide the project team with a holistic view of the project’s risk profile for effective risk mitigation.

This presentation will provide an introduction to probabilistic risk analysis, share techniques that can be used in any project, in any industry, and share some examples of how this technique has been used to improve project decision making.

    Information and Registration

95% of IoT devices are wireless. As a result, IoT offers a plethora of new protocols and frequencies over which communication travels. Furthermore, the autonomous nature of IoT networks creates Shadow IoT and IIoT Networks separate from the enterprise network. Due to lack of familiarity among most enterprises, most organizations are ill-equipped to monitor or detect these mysterious channels for harmful activities. As a result, it’s quite easy to remain under the radar and exploit these to exfiltrate data out of an organization or infiltrate the network undetected. In this session we’ll explore real world scenarios of IoT and IIoT risks to provide the basis for building a new and complimentary approach to fortifying your organization’s defense-in-depth strategy and proactively protect against IoT network threats.

In this talk, we’ll review some basic rules we should follow to avoid these problems. We’ll also look at the traditional concepts for managing test data and learn how to do it in the cloud using Microsoft Azure. Along the way, we’ll examine the differences between Azure SQL Databases, Azure SQL Server VMs and how we can leverage Azure File Snapshots to get off shared databases.
