Here are the highlights from our annual hiring trends survey of Houston IT leadership for calendar year 2019.
55% expect an increase in IT budget and 14% will reduce
48% expect an increase in total IT staffing level and only 2% will reduce
Security is the biggest issue facing CIOs again and for the last 5 years
Highest professional growth potential is in Security, Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing
79% are planning on increasing base salaries
61% of those increases will be in the 4-6% range – the highest ever
74% include bonuses as part of total compensation
57% of bonuses will pay out in the 10-20% range – the highest ever
75% of employed IT professionals are either actively or passively looking for new positions
90% of contractors are either actively or passively looking for new contracts
80% of companies have no formal employee retention plan
