2018 Houston IT Hiring Trends Executive Summary
Here are the highlights from our annual hiring trends survey of Houston IT leadership for calendar year 2018.
44% expect an increase in IT budget and 16% will reduce
31% expect an increase in total IT staffing level and only 13% will reduce
Security is the biggest issue facing CIOs again and for the last 4 years
Highest professional growth potential is in Security, ERP and Business Intelligence
72% are planning on increasing base salaries
55% of those increases will be 3% or less, 43% in the 4-6% range
78% include bonuses as part of total compensation
51% of bonuses will pay out at less than 10%, 34% in the 10-20% range
70% of employed IT professionals are either actively or passively looking for new positions
90% of contractors are either actively or passively looking for new contracts
20% of companies have an employee retention plan
